In order to get to my weight class I needed some very powerful motors, that were lightweight. So I went to NPC Robotics and picked up two NPC-02423 24 volt 3000 RPM motors, with this setup I would need to gear up (something we as a team have not done before)
.

For wheels I wanted to get something that was bigger with lots of traction. I went to our friends at Northern Tool for some standard 10 inch knobby tires, with a 5/8 " shaft. These tires will allow my bot to run upside-down.

Batteries will be standard SLAs either two 7 AMP at 24 volts or two 12 AMPs. Hopefully I can run my standard 3 minutes on the two 7 AMP batteries, this will give me an extra 5 pounds for my wedge-o-matic!.

Speed controllers are going to be the tried and true IFI Victor 883's I have had great luck with these in Boomerang, and the guys at IFI are great to deal with, I had one controller that died and they replaced it. Good to hear that they stick behind their products!

With Thunderbolt I have picked up two new sponsors Norlen and Tommydocks. You can check out their sites at: www.norlen.com and www.tommydocks.com. Norlen manufactured the hubs I needed for my wheels.
